Welcome to Harmony Tree Piano Studio

I’m Ashley Young, a piano instructor from Seattle, WA. I love connecting with my students weekly and seeing music make a difference in their lives. I am especially passionate about teaching children and am known for my patient, comfortable, and encouraging approach. I also enjoy working with teens and adults who are learning for the first time or returning to piano. My hope is always to understand each student’s musical goals and help them get there with ease.

Lessons are fun, engaging, and geared toward each student’s musical interests, while developing a strong foundation in classical technique and fundamentals—often without them even realizing it.

If you'd like to learn more or see if I'm a good fit, I'd be happy to talk with you. Contact me to ask a question, schedule a trial lesson, or learn about current openings.

One on One Lessons Rock

Weekly one-on-one lessons help students build a consistent, trusting rapport with their teacher. This makes learning feel comfortable and supportive—you’re never “on your own.” It also allows me to adjust the pace, materials, and approach so each student can grow as a musician in a way that feels just right for them.

Focused on confidence and joy

I want students to feel proud of themselves and truly enjoy making music. I break skills into manageable steps, celebrate progress, and keep lessons positive and encouraging. Students also have the chance to play in recitals, which helps build confidence and lets them share their progress with family and friends.

Affordable and flexible for families

I keep my rates competitive and offer discounts for additional siblings to help make quality music education more accessible. I also offer virtual lessons and travel to students’ homes in some cases, giving families more options to fit piano into their schedules.

Professional Online Lessons

Ashley offers quality, engaging online piano lessons to students across the country. Since 2019, her fun and flexible lessons on Google Meet have made it easy for kids and adults to continue learning from the comfort of their own homes, whether they’re at home day-to-day, traveling, managing busy family schedules, or staying home because someone is sick.

Applying Music Theory

Learning music theory can feel tedious at times. However, Ashley understands how to break down music theory so that it becomes applicable to everything her students do. Theory is a key component of understanding the language of music, helping students recognize patterns that unlock so much more. For instance, it helps them play more proficiently with other musicians, write music, and transpose their chords, scales, and arpeggios across all 12 keys.
